Man's best friend, carved by hand into MDF and brought to life with bold tattoo-style linework. This piece is of a beautiful German Shepherd.

If you've had one of these dogs, or you just know a good portrait when you see it, this is a great piece to add to your home.

Every piece is carved by hand. The design gets carved straight into the MDF, then painted, then rolled with Flint water-based block ink to bring out the depth and shading.

This piece is placed in an upcycled frame sourced from an op shop rather than something bought new, so the frame already has a bit of history, adding character before it ever goes on your wall.

Why a German Shepherd

German Shepherds show up a lot in tattoo culture, and it's not hard to see why. They're loyal, they're strong, and they carry a look that translates well into bold linework, the kind of subject that holds up whether it's inked on an arm or carved into wood.

A lot of people get a dog tattoo to represent something specific: protection, family, a dog they've actually had.

This piece works in a lot of spaces. A studio, a hallway, next to other bold pieces or on its own, it doesn't need much around it to hold attention.
