Motörhead - Band Logo

The Motörhead logo, carved by hand into MDF and given the old-school tattoo treatment.

If you're a Motörhead fan, you already know this one.

The logo has a look all of its own, and the bold lines work really well when carved by hand. Simple, strong, and instantly recognisable.

The design is carved straight into the MDF, then painted and rolled with Flint water-based block ink. The ink brings out the carved lines and gives the piece that darker, worn-in look.

The frame is an upcycled op shop find rather than something bought new. We like using old frames where we can, and the bit of history and wear suits a piece like this.

There's a reason the Motörhead logo has stuck around for so long. It's bold, rough around the edges, and has that same attitude you'd expect from the music.

This piece keeps things simple and lets the logo do the work. It's a bit of old-school rock 'n' roll turned into traditional tattoo art and carved into wood.
